Getting Started with Article Writing
Are you interested in writing? Are there things on your mind that you’d love to share with the online masses? Perhaps you got opinions that you just need to express, or some creative juices ready to burst? If you answered yes to one of these questions or more, then perhaps it’s time you started to look into article writing.
Article writing is a way for amateur and sometimes professional writers to make income based on their talents and creations. Not only can you express yourself and share your knowledge and opinions with large audiences, you can earn money from them. At some sites you earn money from your articles being paid for with a one-time fee. At others you can get paid for your submission, and you can get paid for how popular (how many views) your article receives. I know that there are many authors out there that generate a pretty steady source of income. I’ve read some of their articles and seen their submission counts, and some of those are pretty darn impressive.
You can write about anything you want, but not everything is qualified for purchase. There are also different types of ways to sell your articles. You can sell them exclusively (meaning that the article will not be posted anywhere else) or non-exclusively and you can retain your rights and continue to use it wherever you like. I submit most of my articles non-inclusively, although I’m pretty sure the fee I receive is less for these kind, I don’t mind it because I want to be able to post them in many places. Now keep in mind, most sites do not pay a dime for articles that have to do with current events, or political views and agendas, or religious stances. Anything that doesn’t have staying power and long term relevancy will most not likely receive an offer from the site. You can post them to your account if you want of course, and maybe you will generate income from views.
To be honest I’ve only written about 10 articles total in the past year or so, at least those that I’ve submitted. I was going to try to make it a full time occupation last year, but I was not as inspired then as I am now. You got to find what you’re truly interested in or something that you know really well. The more you write, the better you’ll get, and the more readers (customers) you’ll have.
The great thing is that it’s an open market for you. Anyone can start doing it, there are no background requirements. It doesn’t matter your sex, your race, your age, your ethnicity, none of that matters. What matters is how you write, how you get involved with your audience. Can you explain something to someone and make them visualize it in their mind? Will your enthusiasm shine through by way of your words? These are some of the considerations to evaluate when getting started in article writing, or writing period for that matter.
You can make money from article writing. You can get started at any time and perhaps you’ll make a lot of money doing it. Rich? Maybe not, you sure would have to write a lot of articles and have a huge audience to be rich. So don’t plan on retiring from it. However, the pleasure of writing and the feeling of satisfaction you get from contributing to the world are very rewarding in itself.

I love AC and have looked into Gather but wasn’t sure about it. Is it really any good and how much time do you have to spend there to make any money?
Well gather is a great service as well. I say its pretty comparable to AC and the great thing about is this; You can use them all and it all just depends on how you sell your content. That’s what I like about it, and depending on what kind of user/contributor you are, you can generate exposure for yourself. So that alone I think is worth using more then one of these services. I always think of it this way, eggs in a basket.
